can you post your conkyrc file please :)

I am sorry, I did erase it.
Now I only have the uptime script [which is ${uptime}.. not really hard to discover] and date one [${time %a %d %b}].
The clock is a screenlet, and the network infos too..
If I'd find a conky backup [the config file I had when I took this shot], I'll post it here.

Oooh. I like it. Sucks the panel isn't really a panel though. Could you use a blank panel and set a custom background for it? Then at least windows would recognize that it's there and not cover it. Or are you using docky?

Nope. Maximized windows don't actually cover the panel.
Take a look here: [link]
AWN set in panel mode won't let windows cover it :)

Then if I set a classic gnome-panel with a transparent background, I can still draw a fake-panel on the wallpaper and let maximized windows don't cover it, but conky scripts won't run in foreground, they will be covered by the gnome-panel, even if it is transparent and the conky window types are set to override.

This didn't happen in Gnome version =< than 2.22.x

And btw, can you change emerald's titlebar color? It doesn't match with gtk (and it's weird because in your screen it does)

mmmh... kinda odd this. For me it's different [as you can see in the screenshots].
Do you use gnome-color-chooser setups?

You can edit the emerald theme by yourself, BTW. To let the emerald theme perfectly match the GTK you are using [the trick does work for every GTK, you know...].

I don't use gnome-color-chooser, and I know I can edit emerald themes, but don't know how to change emerald's bar color :/

You can do this in 2 ways.

The simple one: open the emerald theme manager [System > Preferences > Emerald Theme Manager], select the theme you want to edit, then select the tab edit themes.
On the first tab, select the legacy engine [is the default one on my Equinox themes] and replace all the dark colours you see [inner gradient, outer gradient, and so on].

The hard one: nautilus to ~./emerald/theme [not themes] and open the theme.ini file.
Replace all the exadecimals with the one you want. To grab the exadecimal you want, simply take a screenshot of your desktop, open the image with GIMP and get the colour with the respective tool.

Hope is clear. If you have questions, feel free to ask :)

I want to do similar thing but conky scripts and awn as a panel act the same like gnome panel + conky. I mean, conky moves above awn.

Conky is a little bit odd about staying on top.
With gnome-panel I had some troubles, just like it stays on top if I add conky to startup apps, but if I shut down and start it once the system is running, it places behind the gnome-panel.
With AWN I have never had something like this. It's strange your AWN is different than mine.

Okay, that's done :) I set awn to start at startup and then manually start conky :)

I imagine I could accomplish something similar in docky. Set it to panel mode, make a custom theme (invisible panel) and the put the fake panel on the desktop background.

Never used docky so far. So I can't help you.
But I guess it could be possible, with any dockbar app which stays on top even when windows are maximized, and don't let them cover the bottom bar pixels..

I created it. And still I am here, trying to improve it the best I can.
But there are many other guys who draw fake panels very good [Drakfire is one of them, e.g.].

Glad you liked [ti rispondo in inglese perché mi hai scritto tu, in inglese :D].

Is the Dock with ubuntu by default?
Or are you using a 3rd party program?

The dock [the one with the token icons] is Avant Window Navigator.
And surely, it is not Ubuntu default, but it is within the universe repository, so you can simply type a sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator after a fresh Ubuntu installation.
